In follow-up to our November 3rd post about Saudi Arabia, we wanted you to know the Saudi Crown Prince Muhammad bin Salmon traveled to Egypt to meet with the Coptic Pope, Tawadros 2nd! Egyptian media said this was absolutely “unprecedented” for a Crown Prince to reach out to the Coptic Church. Apparently, the new Crown Prince, who rose to power after the January, 2015 death of King Abdullah, is anxious to build a new image of his country since the old image has been extremist Islam. In fact, many terrorist groups have arisen out of that nation.
On a side note, there wasn’t a LOT of publicity in Egypt of this event according to our sources there. While there was mention of it, the average Egyptian most likely didn’t even know about it.
