Ten years ago, the self-proclaimed Islamic State (ISIS) began marking Christian homes with the Arabic letter “n” (for Nazarene), as its fighters overran parts of Iraq. That symbol marked the buildings as belonging to Christians and served as a threat to all believers in the area. Christians around the world began wearing this symbol as a way of showing their support for those facing Islamic extremists.
