In one closed nation, they can “barely keep up with the demand” for Bibles!

(From CRU, cru.org). Even though Muslims around the world are celebrating Ramadan, there are closed Muslim nations where organizations like Campus Crusade For Christ International, or Cru as it is known overseas, cannot even keep up with the demand for Bibles! Why? It’s all due to prayer! Don’t ever let anyone tell you prayer “doesn’t work”. Here’s one true story example: “A local Cru missionary team had been praying SPECIFICALLY for the chance to reach a closed-nation leader with God’s Word and message. Someone influential. Someone who could make it easier for people to know and follow Jesus in hard places. THE VERY DAY THEY SPOKE THAT PRAYER, THIS HAPPENED:

“A man walked up to their little group. He introduced himself and explained his influential position. The missionaries were amazed…and they were bold! When this leader asked what they were doing, they explained they were offering Bibles. He said he believed it was full of errors (a common belief among Muslims), so the missionaries invited him to read it and see for himself.

“RIGHT THERE ON THE CITY WALKWAY, THIS MAN OF GREAT INFLUENCE RAISED HIS VOICE AND PROCLAIMED LOUDLY, IN ARABIC, THE WORDS OF JOHN 1:1: ‘In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.'”

As he kept reading, a small crowd gathered…all listening to the inerrant, infallible Word of God being read in Arabic. And this leader…who had arrived skeptical of the Bible but willing to investigate further…went on to read aloud the entire book of John in front of this audience…finding no quarrels with anything he read. Then, in front of everyone, he asked to take God’s Word home with him!”

And stories like this are one reason we keep urging you to pray for unreached peoples everywhere! Especially during Ramadan when Muslims are fasting, praying, and seeking God, your prayers make a difference as they have dreams and visions of a “Man in White” saying, “Follow me!”

According to Cru, the needs are always pouring in for this book in closed-nation areas. The demand is very high in the Middle East/North African regions. Each Bible costs $6.75, and so your donation of $101.25 will provide 15 Bibles, but any amount will help. Their goal is to have the funds by May 15 to send 74,000 Bibles to the field!
