What Is The Islamic View of Salvation?

Continuing with our series on Islam during their holy month of Ramadan, Pray4SouthAsia.com shares about the Islamic view of salvation.  If you are going to minister to a Muslim, you must understand one of the basic differences between Christianity and Islam.

For Muslims, salvation is earned, not freely given through grace.  At death, Allah will weigh all their deeds, both good and bad.  This will determine their eternal destiny – Fire or Paradise. But ultimately Allah decides their fate, whether heaven or hell.  Regardless of their record or how they lived their life. People should practice the 5 pillars of Islam and be obedient to sharia law.  No assurance of Paradise is guaranteed except death in a holy war, or, if one dies during pilgrimage to Mecca.

Prayer:  Lord, please open hearts and minds of Muslims in South Asia and around the world when they hear about the free gift of eternal life in Jesus.  May they have revelation that Jesus is the only Way, Truth and Life and that there is assurance of salvation in Him alone.  Help them see that it is by grace through faith, not good deeds that are saved. Amen!
