(From Pray4SouthAsia.com) – In followup to our previous story about the Maldives, adults in that country often use force against children in the home or classroom. Up until a few years ago, 15% of adolescents had been sexually abused at least once. Among girls in secondary school, the figure was 33%. Since 2020, new laws have been put in place for the purpose of ending sexual and other forms of violence against children. Recent high profile cases of child abuse have also pushed society in general to openly address such issues.
- Pray for children who had (or have) been abused to receive the help and support they need.
- Pray they have encounters with Jesus and find healing in Him.
- Pray for good implementation of the new laws to protect children and penalize abusers.
