(From Pray4SouthAsia.com) Pakistan has over 2.6 million Christians, most of whom are descendants of low-caste Punjabi Hindus who converted over a century ago. Hinduism is the second largest religious group in the nation after Islam. As a minority group, they have almost equal rights under the law. But they are among the poorest and most neglected members of society. One report indicates 90% of Pakistani Christians are illiterate and have almost zero access to education. Despite these realities, local ministry workers are committed to evangelism and discipleship. They have established fellowships in all major cities and in many towns and villages.
- Pray for overseas ministries to invest in the education of Christian children in Pakistan.
- Pray for open doors to also invest in educational projects for Christian youth.
- Pray that Pakistani Christians have revelation of their identity as God’s people and royal-priesthood (1 Peter 2:9 – “But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, God’s special possession, that you may declare the praises of Him who called you out of darkness into His wonderful light.” – NIV)
