(“Hinduism 101” from Pray4Asia)) – Idol worship is an integral part of Hinduism. However devotees stand divided on this. Some believe in the importance of a tangible form of god (saguni or sakar) while others worship a formless divine (nirguni or nirakar). But even sects that believe in idol worship tend to have rituals like immersion of idols which is supposed to make one aware of the transitory nature of life…that even a god comes and goes. Please, pray for the followers of Hinduism, and specifically for:
Hearts and minds to be opened to the reality of what idols are.
Understanding and conviction about the futility of image worship.
God’s Spirit to draw hearts and minds to the living Christ.
